This February half term Wiltshire Creative and partners were pleased to welcome over 160 to our first indoor Family Fiesta at St Michael’s Church and Community Centre, Bemerton Heath. Following successful summer events we wanted to respond to the need for free family activities in welcoming warm spaces.
Hosted by St Michael’s the day included hula hooping performances; circus crafts from Wiltshire Scrapstore; computer coding workshops with First Coding; face painting; storytime from Salisbury Library; and a magic table. Salisbury City Council, Wiltshire Council, Salisbury Foodbank, St Michael’s and Tesco all teamed together to provide free hot food for participants and Wiltshire Fire service even sent up a fire engine!
The Family Fiesta is one of numerous events Wiltshire Creative run in the local community every year, ranging from after school club workshops, attending lunch clubs and working with military families.
A huge thank you to all the partners who supported this great event and helped us to provide some arts and fun to local families.
