Following the success of Patch’s Parade, which travelled through Salisbury’s streets in May as part of Salisbury International Arts Festival, there is a second chance to meet Penguin this summer. Until Saturday 17th August visitors to Salisbury Playhouse will be able to take a closer look at the giant Penguin puppet and Patches amazing costumes.

Over the spring artists led textile workshops with a variety of groups in the city making individual patches for the costumes. Groups included Wiltshire College Students; Happy Café; Kaleidoscope Art Club; Bishopdown Youth Group; Salisbury Community Café; Friary After School Club; Elizabeth House Day Centre; Mind The Gap; Friday Under 5s and Salisbury Almshouses. We also received beautiful patches from members of the public.

Over 150 local people had the chance to get involved, and really appreciated the chance to be part of the parade.

Patch's parade was probably one of the best things I've ever done. It was fantastic to be part of something big…Thank you for lifting my spirits and enabling me to participate.

Why not pop down to Salisbury Playhouse this week, say ‘Hi’ to Penguin and see if you can find your patch?
